    • If you did not follow the rational decision-making model exactly, did you follow even one of the steps - or some half way?

Thank you for the opportunity to help you with your question!

In using the rational decision making, individuals use an analysis, step-by-step process and facts to come up with decisions. It is a precise and a very analytical process, that usually yields fact-based decisions.

It is a process that includes six steps namely:

  1. Defining the problem.
  2. Identifying the decision criteria
  3. Allocating weights to the criteria.
  4. Developing the alternatives.
  5. Evaluating the alternatives.
  6. Selecting the best alternative.

Recently, I felt that the company I was working for was underpaying me and I decided to resign from my position as the chief accountant. In coming up with my decision, I admit I did not follow the entire process of rational decision making. I only based my decision on the first step where I identified my problem as being poor remuneration for the job description I had.

Please let me know if you need any clarification. I'm always happy to answer your questions.
