Inflammation is a tissue response towards injury. It can be acute or chronic.Main components of inflammation includes, first recognition of the injurious stimulus,then leukocytes are recruited after which the injurious stimuluos is eliminated. The response is regulated and resolution completes the process. Acute inflammation can lead to elimination of the injurious stimulus or progression to chronic inflammation.
Inflammation is important as it helps to clear infections and eliminate noxious stimulus.
