1. What is a contract?
A contract is an agreement binding two or more parties, which is signed and accepted by them
indicating their duties to each other and the consequences of not fulfilling these duties (Singh,
2010). A contract must, therefore, be agreed upon by the parties and also be legally enforceable
besides detailing the payments, duties, principles, restrictions, consequences and also
compensation for not abiding by the contract by any of the two parties.
2. The Law of contracts: What comprises construction Documents?
Some of the components of construction documents include the contract forms, which show the
agreements of the construction. Apart from this, the conditions of the contract are also part of the
construction documents. Apart from these two, various drawings including plans for either for
the site, the floor, or even landscape which form the base of the construction and the project
information are also present. Other drawings include those of the elevations of the building
which indicate how the building will eventually look like when looked at from the outside and
