The clinical practice project provides students with the opportunity to explore a problem or issue of particular personal or professional interest that is somehow related to one of the following nursing competencies: patient-centered care, teamwork/collaboration, evidence based practice, quality improvement, safety or informatics (QSEN: http://www.qsen.org)-Please use the Graduate Competencies to complete your assignment.

The project must demonstrate your ability to synthesize and apply the knowledge and skills acquired through this academic program to real-world nursing issues and problems. This final project will affirm your ability to think critically and creatively, to solve practical problems related to nursing practice or the facilitation of patient-centered care, to make reasoned and ethical decisions, and to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Remember, your project is to be actually implemented during the five weeks of this course.

NRSE 4600: Clinical Practice Project (CPP) Goals and Objectives This Form is to be typed. Project Topic: Pain management to assist patients in containing various diseases. Discuss Health Care Organization The healthcare organization which I will be working with is the Center for Disease Control and Prevention. The CDC is an organization which works with the hospitals by providing expertise on various health issues which in this case is pain management. The organization also provides hospitals with the required tools to create preventive measures to prevent and control these pains when treating the patient. Being the leading national public health institute, I expect to get a lot of information and knowledge from this organization which I will use to educate my colleagues on how to manage pain. I expect to get some form of training from the CDC on how best to implement pain management strategies on patients. Although I may not provide them with the necessary equipment, am planning to give the healthcare providers knowledge which they will use to protect themselves in the future (CDC, 2018). The best way I can do this is through organized-healthcare provider interactions and public speaking sessions in the Stay Health Hospital. Normally, CDC collects data in the community where they analyze it to come up with the best solution for a certain disease. I would rely on such information to educate the healthcare providers and patients on how best they can contain pain. My program is in line with the CDC’s mission which works towards providing information to the patients to improve their health. The values of the organization are to reduce or eradicate pain so that people can have a good experience when getting medication. With these values and mission, I expect to work closely with CDC for the benefit of patients (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 2018). Last updated: 5/14/2019 © 2019 School of Nursing Ohio University Page 2 of 5 NRSE 4600: Clinical Practice Project (CPP) Goals and Objectives Global Objective At the completion of this project, I will provide a pain management tool which will be distributed to all healthcare provider in the Stay Health Hospital. They will then provide the information to the patients in the Stay Health Hospital so that they can manage pain with little or no assistance. Project Objectives a) Come up with learning materials on pain management which I will use to educate patient in the Stay Health Hospital. b) Create and come up with an effective patient education tool on pain management to all healthcare providers so that they can implement it to the patients. c) Educate my colleagues on how they can use to this tool to help the patients d) Present the program to the management of the hospital so that it can be used to all patients. Direct patient contact/engagement-implementation in clinical practice: To ensure that the program is effective, I will come up with a patient educational tool which would be used to guide patients on the best pain management methods. The tool would be interactive and fun which would make it easy for the patient to understand anything about pain management. The project targets between 50 Last updated: 5/14/2019 © 2019 School of Nursing Ohio University Page 3 of 5 NRSE 4600: Clinical Practice Project (CPP) Goals and Objectives and 150 patients in the SH wing because I can easily meet with them, I expect it to be effective because it will offer direct engagement to them. At the end, the patients will be able to manage pain while in the facility and even after they are discharged. Possible steps to assist me in completing my project: List at least 4 steps in your project a) The first step would be meeting the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention management which will help in providing the necessary guide in this program an activity which will take place for three days b) I would go through the organizations websites to gather more information on how best to execute the program. This would take another three days. c) The next step would be creating the patient educational tool a process which would take one week d) I would meet with my colleagues in the Stay Health Hospital and educate them about the program, a process which will take three days. e) Informing and educating patients on pain management would be the last step and it will take one week.
