Tuberculosis is a condition with both a high prevalence rate and the potential of
destroying the body in addition to the costly burden that tuberculosis inflicts upon the country
and its citizens. The effects associated with disease necessitate the need to control the weight
associated with it. It is a global health problem which needs to be eliminated globally by the year
twenty fifty (Houben & Dodd, 2016). The process of elimination of tuberculosis is defined as
the presence of less than one case of the infectious TB for every one million people within a
specific geographical population. TB presents itself as a condition that needs urgent attention
within many countries and states, including my own (Houben, & Dodd, 2016).
The strategies for the elimination of tuberculosis include the implementation of
appropriate interventions, policies and control measures that will provide a suitable avenue for
the health of the people and significantly reduce the burden of tuberculosis on the lives of the
people in question. The elimination and reduction of the disease are essential since Tuberculosis
is associated with high mortality rates on a global scale (Houben & Dodd, 2016).
