Choi, Gudmunson, Griesdorn, and Hong in their article examine the students’ needs that
prompt them to face financial stress, and end up seeking financial counseling. The aim of the
article is to understand why students seek financial counseling and the circumstances that cause
them to stress about their finances. Choi et al., carried out a study with a sample of 554 students
who sought financial counseling to investigate the financial problems that increased stress due to
lack of money. In their findings, they identified student loans and other forms of financial debt
drove students especially females to seek financial counseling.

Yates in this news article is of the opinion that students who use bank cards face serious
money issues and looks into some of the ways that colleges can implement to reduce their rates
of spending. The article provides that it is easy for students to wipe out their finances in their
debit and credit cards as they are convenient and easy to use but at their own expense. Yates
looks into different universities and how they handle student money issues, and discovers that
some schools offer student ID cards that function both as debit and credit cards making it easy
for students to access even loan and scholarship money. In this article, Greene, a freshman at
Clark Atlanta University, advices students to use cash instead of bank cards for purchasing so
that they can monitor their spending.

According to Shelley Frost students have limited funds to work with and that is
challenging to them. They need to find ways to control their money management. Also,
the author suggests new way on keeping on the budget up and uses it for more useful
necessities. She also gives example on how to spend income properly.

Jeremy Vohwinkle points out issues that students confront while studying in colleges. He lists
the problems and how they could affect them negatively, and the consequences that might be against
them. However, he mentions solutions and ways to avoid wasting money and makes new strategies to
build up a strong financial budget.

The author Don Rauf talks about how to manage budget the first year in college and how to
learn some budget basics. Also, he divides the income for each month and gives an example on how to
spend the money for each month such as a chart and table. Moreover, he mentions one of the biggest
problem students face witch is Credit Cards and how can they avoid it.

Katy McWhirtert also talks about the issues and how he overcomes it. ”By setting a budget for
things like eating out, clothes and travel, students avoid running out of money before the semester ends
and can save for things like spring fall break or any emergency expenses”.
