The key to motivation is to know what motivation means as well as what it can do. Motivation is an internal energy that allows one to continue moving towards a task successfully. Motivation is different for every person, and can take practice to find one's own motivation. When faced with school tasks or projects that are difficult, the first thing that I do is not procrastinate. Procrastination can lead to dress, which can alter motivation. Second, I gather my resources to make sure that I have everything necessary to complete my assignment. Then, I get organized. I do not wait until the last few days before the project is due, I start on the assignment the same day that I receive it, so that I know how much work I have to do. Once I have made a plan, I become motivated to get a good grade. My overall motivation stems from my reward at the end of my assignment. The fact that I want a good grade on my project keeps me motivated the entire time.
When it comes to motivation in other areas of my life, I use the same tactic. My motivation comes from the end result. For example, when I am not feeling like cleaning, I think of the end result. The motivation to see a clean room at the end of my tasks keeps me motivated to continue the work that I have started.
