The way human beings live either as an individual or a group shape their political ideas
and thinking. Based on the book of Detroit: I do mind Dying, it is evident that the political
ideologies and the though harbored by individuals are largely influenced by the actions,
activities, and general external environment which they interact with. The author of the book
reconstructs the activities of individuals and groups who can use their strengths, abilities, and
skills to engage in actions that would lead to social change. He draws allusion to the experience
of the residents of Detroit between 1967 and 1974 during the wave of the Great Rebellion.
According to the author, it is the character, actions, and behavior of the working class that made
the Great Rebellion era quite distinct from other major movements in the history of Detroit.
