Write the equation 5x 6y - 12 = 0 in the slope-intercept form and then find the slope and y-intercept of the corresponding line.

Dec 1st, 2015

hello

slope intercept form is y = mx+c , where m is the slope and y is the y intercept

i hope the question is 5x+ 6y - 12 = 0

                   you had typed only 5x 6y - 12 = 0 ( if there is any mistake in the question,please reply )

                      5x+ 6y - 12 = 0

                              6y = -5x+12

                                y= -5 x/6 +12/6

                                y= - 5x/6 + 2

equation is y= - 5x/6 + 2

here slope = -5/6  and y intercept is 2  ( if the question is 5x+ 6y - 12 = 0)

hope you understood..please message if you have any doubts...thank you

Sorry, the equation is 5x - 6y - 12 = 0

Dec 1st, 2015

5x - 6y - 12 = 0

slope intercept form is y = mx+c

                             5x- 6y - 12 = 0

                               - 6y = -5x+12

                                y= -5 x/ -6 +12/-6

                                y=  5x/6 - 2

   equation in slope intercept form is   y=  5x/6 - 2

            slope is 5/6   and y intercept = -2
