Was a woman's life easier or harder by the 1970s than it had been? Why or why not?

Thank you for the opportunity to help you with your question!

I'd say it was drastically easier in the 1970s, there was plenty of reform for the feminism even since the 1920s, with the passing of the 19th amendment, which allowed women the right to vote. Also, just the stigma of the "american dream" so to speak, where women are good for nothing except housework and cooking has decreased significantly. Woman may not be on the same level as men nowadays, especially in the work force, but even by the 1970s, more women were entering the work force, and were able to help their families financially, or financially independent. We women still have a long way to go to get on the same level as men, but life is so much easier growing up now than it was, even 70 years ago.

Please let me know if you need any clarification. I'm always happy to answer your questions.
