Nutrition is a proponent in advancing the health of older adults. There is a high incidence
of malnutrition in this population, and this is because of declining functional status, decreased
bone mass, anemia, impaired muscle function, along with poor wound healing, among other
complications. Despite pointing out the need for nutrition, older people have reduced appetite
along with energy expenditure that is marked with declined physiological and biological
functions like changes in the hormonal level and cytokine (Esselstyn, 2017). Myocardial
infarction (MI) also known as a heart attack is a common illness among the elderly population
and while examining such patients, clinicians usually reflect on their nutrition history and then,
make dietary recommendations for them to enhance their well-being. Typically, such people
