We have the area of trapezoid formula =1/2 *(sum of bases)*height

Here the bases are AB and CD.

Consider triangle ACE.Using pythagoras theorem,AE=sqrt(5^2-4^2)=3 cm

AB=AE+EB=10+3=13 cm

CD=4 cm

Height=CE=4 cm

Area =1/2*(13+4)*4 =2*17=34 cm^2(answer)
