Thank you for the opportunity to help you with your question!

a.  The system of checks and balances is one of the strengths that the US constitution has and by extension the US government since it was formed. This system is tasked with ensuring that the three branches of the government are limited in power and none of them becomes too powerful (the balance) the checks system ensues that decisions within the government are not made lightly. The greatest weakness that the constitution has is that it has the capacity to be interpreted depending on the convenience of the current society. The courts have perpetuated corruption based on their interpretation of the constitution which presents a threat to both liberty and constitution.

b.  The checks and balances strength can be maintained by ensuring that no government branch wields much power to set the agenda for the running of the country.  The vagueness of the constitution and its subsequent interpretation can be improved by looking at the constitution as a tool that divides and unifies the US as a nation. If amendments are made to rally the interpretation towards a certain side, the amendments will be in someone‚Äôs interest. It is only good that the constitution is vague in its general language to show opposing points that they get what they want and reduce conflict.
