My working knowledge, when considering adolescent development, will focus on the
various contexts. One of the backgrounds which will be seen in the development will be the
physical context. Physical development will focus on the rapid changes in the body, which
will be seen in adolescents. The main reason behind the changes will be an increase in the
levels of certain hormones, that is, estrogen and gonadal androgen. The increase in the level
of hormones will lead to height, genital, and weight development. Gender differences will
highly be seen in this particular context. Emotional and social development will be the next
context that can be seen in adolescent development. The concept will focus on trust, identity,
and role diffusion. Group membership will highly be applicable in this particular context.
Parents will be regarded as role models since they are authority figures who will have a
significant impact on the teenager’s life. The last context will focus on cognitive and brain
development, which will highly focus on how an adolescent solves problems or draw a
rational conclusion based on what they have experienced (Steinberg, & Morris, 2001).
My working knowledge, when considering the behavior and the dynamic of juvenile
delinquency, will revolve around group norms. There are various norms which will be
