Abstract
Operations control is based on the analysis of the activities within an organization that
facilitates the process of achieving organizational goals and objectives. The research focuses on
the explanation of operations control involved in an organization to promote lean manufacturing,
inventory management, and employee continuous improvement strategies. The strategies are
aimed at promoting productivity and reducing wastes towards the idea of attaining sustainability
through environmental management. Therefore, the literature review conducted is aimed at
promoting the examination of effective practices that would promote productivity and enhance
efficient organizational management strategies.

Operation Control Literature Review
Introduction
Operation controls are essential in the running of an organization based on the strategy of
transforming resources into products and services. The process of operations control involves the
preliminary control approach, which focuses on monitoring the quality and quantity of the
resources before being brought to the organization. Also, the operation control process takes the
step of screening the controls on whether the resources meet the organizational standards during
the transformation procedure. Post-action control is the last process in operation control, which
lays focus on obtaining feedback on the performance of the outputs within the manufacturing or
service processes. Operations control will involve various procedures to help an organization in
achieving its goals and objectives. For instance, lean manufacturing helps in focusing on
strategies of minimizing wastes within the manufacturing process towards the goal of
maximizing productivity. Also, inventory control is another tool for operations control, which
lays focus on organizational processes that maximize the use of inventory towards the realization
of maximum profits. Kaizen is also an operations control method of improvement whereby the
activities used help in realizing continuous advancement strategies. Kaizen strategy involves five
processes which include quality, efforts, employee involvement, the will to change, and better
communication. Therefore, the research establishes a correlation between the operations control
within an organization with the procedures that include lean management, inventory control, and
kaizen strategies in the strategic implementation of organizational approaches that will help
achieve the goals and objectives of a company.
Importance of Operations Control in an Organization
OPERATION CONTROL LITERATURE REVIEW

Effective implementation of controls in an organization helps in achieving the goals and
objectives of a company. The operations control involves the strategies of assigning, evaluating,
and regulation of resources meant to increase productivity in a company. The purpose of
operations control will as well help the management in making effective plans within the
organization. The control systems manage the measurement progress, offer feedback, and
enhance the process of directing a team towards success (Slack, Chambers, & Johnston, 2010).
The operations control also enhances the consistencies of organizational activities. For example,
the management implements policies and procedures within an organization which integrates the
efforts of the employees and organizational stakeholders. Operation controls help in controlling
and managing an organization effectively. The controls placed efficiently will facilitate the
completion of projects on a timely basis as well as enhance the accomplishment of organizational
objectives. Operation controls have also been deemed effective in managing an organization
efficiently, which facilitates the process of managing wastes, inventories, and enhance frequent
improvement strategies. Operations control provides strategies of obtaining feedback in a project
and enhances decision-making process which facilitates the effective running of an organization
towards achieving goals and objectives of a company (Slack, Chambers, & Johnston, 2010).
Therefore, an organization is required to implement the operations control, which would help in
enhancing lean production, inventory management, and employee improvement strategies which
are effective in the development of success processes in an organization.

The article focuses on discussing the operational control linked to the success of an
organization. The implementation of operation control management has been effective in
managing complex industrial processes. The authors focus on the controlled variables in an
organization that enhances the success of the company. For instance, operations control is aimed
at promoting the quality of practices, efficiency of operations, and manages the consumptions of
inventory within the organization (Chai, Qin, & Wang, 2014). Operational management also
involves practices that facilitate continuous improvement operations for quality and efficiency
enhancement. The article also synthesizes the relation of optimization of operational control
deemed to be effective towards organizational success.
Additionally, the authors have involved a research methodology that elaborates the
performance of operational control in complex industrial processes. The research focuses on
identifying the optimal operational control practices, which is followed by the realization of a
problem statement. The identification of optimal operational control will involve targeting values
involved in the planning and scheduling of operational activities within an organization. Also,
the operational controls will help in representing the quality, efficiency, and consumption
indexes within the management practices in complex industrial processes (Chai, Qin, & Wang,
2014). Problem statement in optimal operational controls strategies will engage the process of
controlling the optimal operations, minimization of consumption, combine optimization,
prediction of industrial processes, and the strategy of obtaining feedback and feed-forward.
The authors also discuss the implementation of optimal operational control (OOC)
system in organizational management. The operational control is designed to use various
mathematical models that are aimed at improving the management of operations within complex
industrial processes. The operation control practices are also explained as the implementation of

strategies that ensure timely delivery of products and services regardless of the complexity of
industrial processes. The article describes the operation controls as planning the activities,
staffing the company, organizing the company practices, monitoring the operations, controlling
the teams, directing and motivating the employees towards the achievement of organizational
goals and objectives (Chai, Qin, & Wang, 2014). Also, optimal operation controls are essential in
