Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) went to the Institute of Medicine (IOM) with
the chief intention of forming a coalition or a partnership that would address the topic of
assessing and responding to the necessity to alter nursing profession in 2008. The above was
driven by the recognition that the nursing profession is replete of challenges, especially when it
tries to deliver reformed care and meet the health needs in the nation. As a result of the meeting,
a coalition that would run for two years was formed and the same would address the future of
American health (The National Academies of Sciences Engineering Medicine 2019). The
committee formed was responsible for various mandates but key was the production of a report
that would come up with some changes in the institutional polices and regulations as well as the
public ones as far as the future of the nursing profession was concerned. The same report would
be complied by 2010 and a meeting would be held to delegate on how the same would be
transformed into action (institute of Medicine, 2016). The paper Pinpoints the significance of the
IOM “Future of Nursing” report. It also demonstrates the role of state-based act coalitions
identifies the changes that took place in Louisiana State as a result of the coalition report.
As a result of the coalition, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) and IOM
came up with a report after 2 years of serious deliberation. The United States now had the
