Question Description

Let's discuss the process of fertilization, cell differentiation, and the growth and development that follows during the embryonic period of development - each of you should focus on one aspect of this process and describe it in detail

**This is a copy of my discussion question for my biology class. Pick ONE area. Either fertilization, growth and development or cell differentiation. Answer needs to be brief, through and to the point.

A cell turning into more specialized one in form and function is known as cell differentiation.

The process brings following changes to the cell:

change in size

change in shape

change in their response

change in their activity

However there is generally no change in the sequence of dna.

For example zygote it changes from single cell to embryo to fetus.

 There are some cells which can differentiate into many cell types. They are called pluripotent.

While totipotent are the ones who differentiate into all cell types.
