I really liked that the reading talked about the environment forces in more detail than it did in Chapter 1. In Figure 3-1 in the reading, it shows that the suppliers have a direct correlation to the organization as well as the environmental forces. The organization also has a direct correlation to supplies, customer and environmental sources and the customers have a direct correlation to the organization and environmental forces. According to the reading, social forces can be demographic shift and cultural changes. Economic forces can be macroeconomic condition and consumer income. Technological forces can be changing technology, technology's impact on customer value and electronic business technologies. The competitive forces are alternative forms of competition and small businesses. Lastly, there is the regulatory forces that include laws protecting competition, laws affecting marketing mix actions and self-regulation. These are all very important to remember when thinking about marketing techniques and strategies because almost everything can be directly correlated to one another.
