Introduction
Cultural diversity is currently the global trend in business where organizations are working
so hard to ensure people from different cultures are included in the workforce to reap from the
benefits that come from a culturally diversified organization. In this area of diversity, people from
different religions, races/ethnic groups, age and languages are brought together to help the
organization with different perspectives, ideas, expertise and knowledge which can help during
expansion into different countries (Amadeo, 2019). China is a country located in East Asia and
associated with a big population of about 1.4 billion people. This has made the country undergo
rapid economic expansion as the people provide a good market share for locally produced
products. This has also attracted several international investors due to its place in the global market.
However, despite the attempt to adapt the western ideas, China remains a difficult country to
penetrate and start a business due to the many challenges that organizations need to overcome
(Boontanapibul, 2010). In this paper, I will discuss the challenges that might be faced in an attempt
to promote cultural diversity in China, as well as the methods that can be used to overcome the
challenges.

Cultural difference is one of the biggest challenge organizations face when doing business
in China, and this has a direct impact on the attempts to promote cultural diversity at the workplace.
