Abdulmajeed Nasib EL110 Mrs. Kristina Groves Oct-15-2015 Drinking Age Everyone has met alcoholic at least once. How does drinking age effects on people? What are the biggest reasons for anyone to become alcoholic? Alcohol has negative effects on health, studying, and the future. The legal age of drinking alcohol is a very good reason for anyone to be alcoholic. Also, the family treatment plays a huge role in their children’s behavior. One of the ways to stop people from being alcoholic is to decrease the legal drinking age. People have to be used to it instead of waiting for the moment they become of age. People may argue and say, that would make them drink more and more. I understand this point of view. However, waiting for a long time to be able to do something, it will make them do it without controlling themselves. Consequently, we have the twenty-one party, which is all about drinking and being drunk. Some people may disagree and say it is also dangerous if they start drinking while they are young, so that would cause problems. This is a good point to be concerned. But, there are no differences between being eighteen and twenty-one, if they can control themselves while they are twenty-one, so they can have balance if they are eighteen. The law required everyone to be eighteen to get married. People may have an argument, that marriage is different than drinking. I understand this point of view, however, if they can manage their life and get married, then they can control themselves while they are drinking. Some may say that to control a marriage is based on the person, and that does not mean everyone who is married under eighteen will have a good life. Of course not, so why does the law let them get married at this age? Because not everyone would have a miserable life. Sure, as well as drinking. The way we treat our children is significant to make them more reasonable, and think whenever they are going to do anything. For example, if we treat them like adults, they would have responsibility. If we treat them like adults that would be pressure on them because it is even harder for them. Sure it might be. On the other hand, they would be more careful. Many countries treat teenagers like they are adults. Therefore, these countries do not have as much problems of drinking as the United States of America. To conclude, it would not be the best habit for anyone to be alcoholic. However, decreasing the legal drinking age is a helpful way to stop teenagers from being alcoholic, and drinking frequently. Moreover, we must change the way we treat children. we should take care of their health. Not only that but also, we have to make sure that our children are not going to be alcoholic and show them that drinking is not the best thing they would do.
