Abortion is ending or terminating the pregnancy of a woman. There are two main types
of abortion which include the spontaneous abortion which usually happens after two months of
pregnancy which is as a result of contamination of intrauterine or when the unborn baby is
weakly attached to the coating walls of the mother’s womb. The other type is known as
therapeutic abortion, which is categorizedinto medical abortion, which occurs after taking pills
and surgical abortion, which occurs when a doctor is doing an operation to mother while giving
birth. Banning abortion globally has led to different views and opinions among different people
in various countries. Since many people argue that abortion is pro-life which means that
intentionally caused abortionis wrong except in some casesothers are for pro-choice that is they
support abortion to be legalized (Kulczycki & McFarlane, 2015). Therefore abortion should be
banned except where is a risk to mother's health and in case of rape and incest.
Banning abortion has developed different issues and concerns among many people
worldwide. First, many people say that women who have done abortion are at higher risk for
diseases like stroke, cardiovascular, and diabetes compared to other women or girls who have not
aborted. Also, people have the issue that abortion causes liver cancer, cervical cancer, and
ovarian cancer thus women who have miscarried are at higher risk of contracting these types of
cancer compared to others who have not done any abortion (Kulczycki & McFarlane,
2015).These diseases occur due to unexpected interruption of hormones change in the body.
