prevalent seeking researchers to provide affirmations or finer remedies. Following the current
changes in climate and the increased intensity on global warming, food security continues to be
among the most significant ongoing developmental problems and solutions have to be sought.
Genetically modified foods being foods that have been derived from organisms that have had
their genetic material modified in ways that do not occur naturally; most people think they
cannot be a solution to food security. Some think that other methods of agriculture should be
used to secure more food instead of using other scientific methods that are believed to have
adverse effects on human health. The question, in this case, is whether it is valid to state that
genetically modified foods are a solution to food security.
Genetically modified foods can be regarded as a solution for food security because it is
the cheapest method of yielding a substantial amount of crops at a cheap cost. Food security is
about acquiring adequate food at a less cost, even in unfavorable climatic conditions. In the

producing genetically modified foods at reduced costs. Even though these GMOs are produced
ate reduced costs, the seeds are made available to the public and for non-profit purposes. This
makes them available to every farmer so that they can yield better crops even in unfavorable
climatic conditions. This proves that genetically modified foods can be acquired at a less cost
since they are modified to grow under low maintenance such as dry areas where there are no
