The media is a great influence in propagating the generalization of the medical attendant.
The nurses have been portrayed in various different ways. The media has portrayed them in both
negative and positive ways. Due to the media, the nurse appears to be young and seductive lady with
little training. On the other hand, it also shows nurses to be people with kindness, the handmaiden
for the doctors.
Workplace and work esteems is the other factor that affects the public image of nurses. It is
believed that nurses gain a lot from their interaction with others and work experience. Some of the
factors that influence the public image for these nurses are career and education choice, culture
gender and traditional values (Beck, 2015).
