How is this Health insurance mandate going to impact you? So far, every criticism of the ACA has been proven wrong. Unemployment has gone down for example. Yet, in 2018 the Feds will not fund the act anymore. It will become a tax burden on the states and local governments. How will this affect states who still have not rebounded from the recession? In Illinois we still have a multi-billion dollar deficit. If we had to pick up the tax burden, surely something or someone will bear the cost.
Thank you for the opportunity to help you with your question!
Being from a lower middle class, on a personal level, ACA is very beneficial to me. It has given me the ability and wider coverage and options to afford care and it also secures my children.
When feds stop funding ACA and its burden is handed over to states, they are going to feel a financial burden in short term and will not be good for their financial deficit. But in long run since ACA has major component of preventive care states will benefit by bringing down the costs associated with disease overall.
Ultimately taxpayers are likely to pay for ACA e.
