Creativity is central to strong business performance. Although creativity and
innovation are used interchangeably, creativity is viewed as the precursor to innovation. The
former is viewed as the art of turning imaginative ideas into reality. It is the ability to identify
hidden patterns and connect different phenomena to generate economically viable solutions.
However, for creativity to accrue, organizational leadership has to be appropriate. Anderson
& Adams (2015) argue that creative competencies are positively correlated with leadership
