A large portion of South America Continent is in the southern hemisphere. Equator at 0°
latitude passes through the region’s three countries, which include Brazil, Colombia, and
Ecuador. The region also experiences seven different types of climates with tropical savanna and
tropical rain forest occupying the largest area. The Tropic of Capricorn is 23.5° south of Equator
and lies within Chile, Brazil, Paraguay, and Argentina as shown in the map highlighted at
