### Question Description

Suppose that there are two types of tickets to a show: advanced and same day.  The combined cost of one advance ticket and one same day ticket is \$45.  For one performance, 30 advance tickets and 40 same day tickets were sold.  The total amount paid for the tickets was \$1500.  What was the price of each kind of ticket?

x=45-y

substitute in equation(2)

30(45-y)+40y=1500

solve for y

1350-30y+40y=1500

10y=150

y=\$15

so

x=45-15
