The US government as a country has a duty of keeping the citizens safe from outsiders and threats. It has a responsibility to serve the people as the people need it. The obligations can impact individual and group rights as these obligations are heavy. Individuals by the United States Government are guaranteed the right to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness. The US government also has to acknowledge groups. A world example of this would be African Americans before and after the Civil War. The US has a responsibility to acknowledge these people as american citizens, and offer them the same rights and liberties.
