Introduction
Mexicans started to migrate in large
numbers in the 1900s. Between 1910
and 1930, the number of Mexicans in
the US tripled according to the
American census that was done at
the time. The number had increased
from 200 000 immigrants to 600000
immigrants. The US government
admitted that the actual number of
Mexican immigrants was high
because
there
were
many
undocumented immigrants that had
not partook in the census for fear of
being deported. The US-Mexico
boarder was at the time open and
remained so for a long time which
explains why there re many
undocumented Mexican immigrants.
