1.Greek, Roman, and Egyptian cultures used mythology to explain the natural phenomena around them.  Delve into the mythologies of these three ancient civilizations and compare/contrast their uses of mythical beings as early religion.

2.The chief characteristics of Greek art are balance, harmony, and proportion.  Evaluate the achievements of ancient Greece, from the Archaic Period through the Hellenistic Age, in light of these ideals.  Support your answer with specific references to historical events and figures, works of art, and/or philosophical ideas..
