Charles Richard Drew is one of the unsung heroes in the history of academia. He was an
African-American surgeon and medical researcher. His greatest feat in medical research was the
innovation of blood banks after years of extensive research (Lee et al., 2018). However, the
innovation of blood bank alone is not what inspires me, but reading his entire biography, I get
influenced a lot. In this paper, I will espouse on major influences I find in his biography.
