Wall mart is a company that is based in the US and runs a chain of retail stores in many
countries all over the world. It is partly a public corporation and partly private. The majority of
shares are held by Walton’s family, and they dominate the senior-most management. All the
subsidiaries are controlled and managed from the headquarters located in Bentonville, Arkansas.
The middle-level managers are employees who have developed their career for so many years at
Wall- Mart, and due to their experience, they have been promoted. The company contributes to
the welfare of the community around more so sell health and environmentally friendly products.
The company observes gender balance in recruitment and promotion and gives women an equal
chance like men. Wal-Mart has a set of competent managers both at the top and the middle level
that is charged with the responsibility of subsidiaries operations. The company has decentralized
the operations of its business to individual subsidiaries and this has simplified its operations.
Leaders of Wall-Mart
The company is headed by executive managers and board of directors. The leadership is
composed of several presidents and Chief executive officers and executive vice presidents (WalMart, 2019). The Chairman of Wal-Mart’s Board of Directors is Gregory G. Penner while the
CEO of Wall-Mart called Doug McMillon. There are also other Presidents and CEOs that heads
business wings such as e-commerce, Wall-Mart international and Sam’s Club.
Wal-Mart is a Successful Company
Wal-Mart is a successful company because it continues to excel in the retail market
where others losses and drops out. One of the reasons why Wall-Mart is successful is the everlow pricing strategy. It is very difficult for large retail chain stores to maintain the ever-low
prices year in year out. However, Wall-Mart being a successful company is able to offer
customers with everyday low prices due to the huge volume of sales and higher bargaining
power with the suppliers. The company has a traditional practice of outsourcing products at the
lowest possible prices from its suppliers (Wall-Mart, 2019). It has also established a long term
