Erics wants to change his organizational structure to best suite his company. You make the call. Which organizational structure would you recommend to Eric for his company: line organization, line and staff organization, matrix-style organization, or cross-functional self-managed teams? Why did you recommend this structure to Eric? Based on the example, what advantages or disadvantages do you feel that the company will get from this type of organizational structure?

i would recommend the cross-functional self managed teams. this is because with this type of organization structure it helps employees have and idea of what happens in the various sections of the organization. it also encourages interaction between employees from the various departments and gives them a higher job depth. therefore there is freedom for employees and problems in the different departments can be detected easily.
in this structure however there are disadvantages that are associated . for instance one unit may fail to perform its function and or share their idea, or employees in one unit may develop interest in another function and therefore they will reduce their performance. an example is where employees in production come to do a project in marketing. they may find the marketing job easier and can try to get transfer to the marketing department. this will lower their morale and lead to poor performance.
