Reflection on “Rationality, human nature, and society in Weber's theory”
“Rationality, human nature, and society in Weber's theory” is the work of Wallace Walter,
written in the year 1990. According to Webber’s concepts discussed in this text, there are
some points about human nature and how human nature and its effects to the human society.
It shows how Webber sees human individual as being able to generate some alternatives to a
certain end, but in order to decide on the best alternative to take towards the desired end, they
need assistance from another person or people. This brings the need for a society in fulfilling
human nature and purpose. Additionally, human beings are also able to understand the
alternatives generated, but cannot individually make comparisons and choose from the
alternatives without the help of fellow humans. Moreover, it is clear that an individual can
make a small change to the world, but cannot make major or greater changes to the world
without the assistance of other human beings....
