Major Historical Events of Buddhism
In the 5th century before Christ and in the current day Nepal, Siddhartha Gautama was
born in a rich family, and he embarked on a quest to search for the truth and happiness.
However, Siddhartha Gautama was troubled by the suffering of the world, and he decided to
leave his home and experience poverty, hoping to find spiritual happiness (Anderson, 2016).
This was not the case, and he realized that one could only find solace by living between two
extremes of life. This was the birth of Buddhism teachings, which are known as the Middle Way,
and primitive descriptions of Buddhism. His teachings inspired many followers, and after his
death, they were organized to a religious foundation which is arguably the birth of Buddhism as
a religion in the middle age Asia. Even though the emperor Ashoka the Great in India had
already made Buddhism as a state religion, the teachings of Siddhartha Gautama...
