Question description

please, read urbanism a way of life, by Louis Wirth

 http://www.uni-leipzig.de/~sozio/mitarbeiter/m19/content/dokumente/614/Wirth_1938.pdf

Louis Wirth presents a theoretical approach to cities that has often been used to describe and define the key features of cities and urban areas. In your discussion response, analyze Wirth’s theoretical approach to the city by answering the following questions:

  • What does Wirth say are the key features of cities?
  • How does each feature affect or relate to the others?
  • Compare and contrast Wirth’s argument with at least one other of the authors in Part 2 (Chapters 7-11) of your text. Based on the other readings for this week and your own experiences with cities, do you think that Wirth is correct? Why or why not? Are there any features that the other authors identify that Wirth does not?

Your initial response should be at least 250 words in length. Be sure to support your points with examples from the text, required and recommended material, and/or other scholarly articles.
