One of the initial steps in the problem-solving process is to understand the problem. What steps do you think an information technologist would take to solve a problem?

Information technologists solve problems programmatically and so they follow the following steps:

1. Analysis. This is also called problem identification and its the step whereby a system is audited to determine its problems. Information about the problem at hand is gathered to help understand the problem.

2. Design: In this step an information technologists designs a solution for the problem at hand. In the design stage a solution is drafted capturing all the needed parts which require a solution.

3. Coding: This is the step whereby the designed solution is transformed to a digital solution or a program. This is achieved through writing down procedures, functions modules and classes to solve the problem programmatically.

4.Testing and implementation: After the solution has been developed, then its effectiveness is tested and then its put to task. Here the developed program is installed for use and a change over from the basolete system is carried out.

5. Routine Maintenance: Involves performing routine checks to ensure that the system serves its purpose effectively
