Spontaneous, Guided and Directed Play The purpose of this assignment is for you to explore the different levels of teacher/adult involvement in children’s play. In a three to five page paper, you are to:
Define, describe, and discuss children’s spontaneous, guided and directed play
Detail specific examples of spontaneous, guided and directed play
Describe the adult’s or teacher’s role in each of these styles of play
Include an analysis of the value of each in a child’s development and learning
Include an introduction, thesis, and conclusion in your paper. Students may find Chapter 5 of the course text relevant to this assignment.
A minimum of two references, excluding the textbook, must be used.
