idea. A court may have ruled in contradiction of the New York’s supersized soda ban but many
well-known nutrition experts congratulate an effort to restrict the amount of sugary drinks
American may use (Park 1). There is very clear evidence currently that soft drinks are linked to
weight gain and obesity including diabetes. The evidence is clear that soda drinking has a part in
the epidemic. Moreover, there are a lot of people who are in support of the idea that consumption
of soda is not a good idea with regard to the health of the people. With the growing cases of
obesity both to the young persons and the elderly, all measures should be done to help curb the
obese situation in New York state and in the nation at large.
