Older adults are vulnerable to different types of abuse for two reasons that I will discuss bellow.
Health Status: The health status of older adults significantly contribute to abuse. The environment around older adults is changing rapidly. Therefore, most of the older adults experience physical challenges which reduce their chances of becoming independent or conducting daily activities. In that line, older adults remain vulnerable to various abuses.
Social Status: Many older adults are more vulnerable than the youths because of their social integration. Stress, loneliness, and other forms of isolation commonly occur among older adults than the young adults. The social network could be viewed as a link to health factor since low social status leads to poor health.
