Description
Background: As noted by Efraim (2015), at the heart of the technical side of the data warehousing process is extraction, transformation, and load (ETL). ETL technologies, which have existed for some time, are instrumental in the process and use of data warehouses. According to Efraim (2015), “The ETL process is an integral component in any data-centric project"

Research question: Summarize and describe what ETL (Extraction, Transformation, and Load) stands for. Solomon (2015) classified ETL technologies into four categories. Mention these four categories and describe them succinctly. Finally, why is the ETL process so important for data warehousing efforts?
Your research paper should be at least 3 pages (800 words), double-spaced, have at least 4 APA references, and typed in an easy-to-read font in MS Word (other word processors are fine to use but save it in MS Word format). Your cover page should contain the following: Title, Student’s name, University’s name, Course name, Course number, Professor’s name, and Date.

Introduction
The ETL technologies include three separate components which help combine or
integrate data into a single database during programming (Sharda et al., 2015). ETL process
incorporates a modern way of organizing, preparing, and storing a database for both small and
large companies for efficiency. The brilliant ETL technologies comprise graphical interfaces
which aid in setting tables and columns for databases. Hence, most organizations prefer using
ETL technologies and not traditional methods of managing data systems. The paper seeks to
summarize and describe the ETL technologies as the processes for database management. The
paper will also identify and explain the four categories of ETL technologies and the importance
of the ETL processes respectively.
Summary and Description of the ETL Technologies
ETL entails a process that extracts data from various relational database management
systems (RDBMS), involving data transformation via calculations followed by loading the data
into a warehouse system. The ETL process involves the extraction, transformation, and loading
of the data into the warehouse database system (Gacitua, Mazon, & Cravero, 2019). The overall
ETL process takes into account the extraction of data from different RDBMS sources while
transforming and loadi...
