Final Writing Project For your final project, you are required to write women’s voices through time. The emphasis, though, will be on your own voice and the voices of women you know. In particular, I would like for you to interview and write about a woman who is older than you AND a woman who is younger than you. The guidelines for your interviewees is that the persons identify as women, which is meant to be inclusive of a broad span if identities. The goal is for you to ask each person, including yourself, about a specific topic. And, then to ask them how they came to have their view. I want you to pay particular attention to, and note, whether their (or your) views were influenced by other women. Whether their (your) views are in opposition to the views of the women they (you) know. It is also important, though, to be willing to note and acknowledge the ways in which (their) your views might be your own, and/or might diverge from the views of other women who have influenced you. For example, I might decide to focus my writing project on being a single mother. I would write about my views on being a single mother. I would also discuss the ways in which my mother and grandmother had an influence on my views. I would discuss, how my views might be similar to and different from both my mother and grandmothers’ views, but also the views that I think are all my own. I would also interview my cousin who is 10 years younger than me, and my neighbor who is 23 years older than me. In writing up your views and the views of your interviewees be sure to consider the connections and/or divergences you see between each of your views. It is also important to consider how age might be playing a role in differences in views. Your analysis of the role that age might be playing in each persons’ views can be based on your own opinion/insights. To successfully complete this project, you must: 1. Decide on a topic 2. Write your personal narrative about the topic 3. Develop 5-10 interview questions 4. Identify two women to interview(one older than you and one older than you). 5. Interview each woman 6. Write a paper that is 3-5 pages. 7. The paper should creatively present your views and the views of your two interviewees on your chosen topic. 8. Your paper should include brief (2-4 sentences) biographical information about yourself and your interviewees. You can use to use fake names for each of your interviewees, but the biographical information should include their age, their line of work, where they were raised (geographically), and why you chose them to be a part of this project. The following are requirements for your final project: 1. Your paper should be written in Times New Roman, have 12 pt font, double spaced, and have 1inch margins on all sides. 2. Your paper should be void of any major spelling and grammar errors. 3. For full credit your paper must be meet the full minimum page requirement. 4. Violations of academic integrity, like plagiarism, will lead to a failing grade.

Women Voices: Interview with Kate and Mitchel
Introduction

In the recent past, there has been a growing interest in the issue of gender equality. As
such, the rate of women’s activism in an endeavor to unite women and advocate for their rights
has been on the rise (Alcalde, 2017) states. With various groups taking the initiative to resist
injustice against them, there is transformation on the part of women. Through feminist
campaigns, the world perception of the role of women in society is changing.
For this research paper, I interviewed two women: Kate and Mitchel concerning their
children, family decisions, childhood, career decisions, and instances of prejudice at home or the
workplace. The former is aged forty-two, a Caucasian and lives in Minnesota while the latter is
sixty-seven years old, an African American and 42 while the latter is 67, an African American
living in Arkansas. Ordinarily, women experience vulnerability in the various stages of their life
both at home and in the workplace setting. Thus, women who fail to conform to the traditional
gender and norms often experience prejudice.

perspectives as opined by different theorists. For instance, Kate articulates the general view of
gender while dissecting the irony surrounding the existing gender guidelines in socie...
