Introduction
Child development is a critical period of human development and thus should be handled
with diligence and adequate skills. I am applying for a teaching assistant under the program BA
Child Development (BACD). After going through teaching assistant job description, it is crystal
clear that the organization is looking for a passionate, dependable, enthusiastic, and whole
rounded applicant who can fully be depended to engage with children harmoniously and who can
work professionally and ethically in a self-motivated way. In my past position as an RTL at
Express-Scripts-Orlando, Florida, I was accorded with positive accolades and praises by my
supervisor as a futuristic, hard-working, flexible, and time-conscious. While working as a
Customer Service Representative at Chase Bank-Orlando, Florida, I have been recognized as a
top achiever in meeting time schedules and offering outstanding services to the customers in an
ethically way. While working at East Side Childcare-Columbus, Ohio I maintained a conducive
for children and an efficient learning environment. Given these job descriptions and my past
experience, I believe that I am the perfect and ideal candidate for the job.
Describe your views of assessment of young children. What kinds of records would you
keep for monitoring student progress?
For my own point of view, the assessment of young children is fair, valid, and reliable. It
is fair in the sense that it reflects various policies that acknowledge that as the age the child
increases the validity and reliability of assessment increases. It is valid and reliable because it
offers timely information about the progress and development of children in the learning
environment (Richter et al., 2017). The kinds of record that I will keep for monitoring student
progress include anecdotal records (student performance according to behavior or learning

goals), BookWidgets Records (Grade per student on each question), progress report, and
portfolios. The ways that I will use to monitor student progress include curriculum-based
monitoring tests, interaction and observation, and frequent evaluation.
