Surname 1 Name of student Institution. Course. Date. Gun violence in USA, Honduras, and Japan. Gun violence involves crimes committed by use of guns. Grinshteyn, (2016)The world experiences over 250,000 deaths per year as a result of gun associated violence. Out of this six countries inclusive of America contribute to more than half of these deaths. According to Straus et.al (2017), Americans are more likely to die of gun violence than any other cause combined. At least 15549 people died of gunshots in 2017 and with 307 mass shootings. Major gun massacres in USA history include the deadly Las Vegas shootings 58 deaths, The Orlando nightclub shootings(49 deaths), and Virginia Tech massacre in 2007(30 deaths ). On average 42 people die of gunshot per day which is surprisingly just above the average 44-gun-related deaths in Japan for over last 8 years! Japan has less than 50 death and gunshots per year. Honduras receives firearm related deaths than any other country. In 2012 it reached a peak death rate of 90.4 per 100,000 people more than any other country. Japan have seldom has less than 10 shootings death in a year (Garcia-Moreno, Claudia, et al 2006) In an article by Adams, Jared, it requires a license to possess. However, in some states in the USA it doesn't even require a permit to carry a gun. Honduras doesn’t even ban citizens from carrying guns! Unlike USA and Honduras, the Japanese government has long outlawed guns with very strict laws to obtain firearms. Passing better policies regarding gun possession incredibly help in fighting gun violence in the USA. Surname 2 Works Cited Adams, Jared.
