Following to Kahn’s and Friedman’s article, Value Sensitive Design is a putatively built
system for devising complex systems such as in information technology. It further takes into
account human values through certain principles is a comprehensive technique all through the
design process. Therefore, the term value not only accounts the economic benefits of the
fashioned product but also the consideration of what people may consider vital in their daily
lives such as clean air, friendship, moral living, education, art, etc. in that regard the “value
sensitive design employs iterative and integrative methods that comprise of conceptual,
empirical, and technical studies”(Friedman, 2008). The explication of value sensitive design in
the article is drawn from the three investigations.
