According to Murray, & Ashe, (2016) Leishmaniasis is an infectious condition resulting
from protozoan parasites transmitted to people through bites from certain species of insects. In
humans, the bites cause three types of infections, the cutaneous. Visceral, and mucosa
Leishmaniasis. These forms of the condition can either be asymptomatic or severe or in some
instances, have life-threatening conditions. the cutaneous form is the most common and presents
in the skin as sores while the visceral form affects internal organs like the liver and bone marrow

In its cutaneous form, the condition is either a silent infection while for people who
develop clinical evidence present with sores on the surface of their skin. The sores can either be
