The personality of an individual determines their character as well as norms in society.
People have different personalities and this makes lead different lives in society. The interactions
of people in society are greatly determined by their personality. There are a number of theories
that helps predict the behaviors and actions of a person in society. Social cognitive theory is one
of the theories that help determine how a person behaves and acts in society. In addition, it helps
one interact and build good relations in society. Through interactions, one is able to be
influenced by the behaviors of others in society. The personality of a person, however,
determines the extent to which a person`s actions and behaviors are influenced by the
environment surrounding them. In social cognitive theory, a person acquisition of knowledge is
directly related to observing others in the context of outside media influence, experiences, and
social interactions. For this reason, the environment around one in this theory determines their
personality significantly. The social cognitive theory influences the way an individual interacts
and communicates with others in society. It also influences the ability of a person to learn from
their environment.

The social cognitive theory is a personality theory for people who are easily swayed by
the environment around them. Such individuals are able to adapt to the environment around them
effectively. I personally belong to this personality trait hence am able to gain a lot of knowledge
out of the experiences, outside media and social interactions in the society. People with this
personality are influenced significantly by the environment around them. The communication, as

well as interpersonal skills learned by an individual in the society, is greatly influenced by the
environment in which they live. Social cognitive theory can be applied in different areas. An
example where social cognitive theory can be applied in skills and techniques is where a person
