F = 1.95 = kq1q2/r^2

r^2 = 9x10^9*11.9*29.2x10^-12/1.95 = 1.604

r = 1.27 m  

When two identical ions are separated by a distance of 2.0×10−10m , the electrostatic force each exerts on the other is 5.5×10−9N. How many electrons are missing from each ion?

F = kq^2/r^2

q = sqrt(F/K)*r  = sqrt(5.5x10^-9/9x10^9) *2.0x10^-10 = 7.82x10^-10*2x10^-10

=1.56x10^-19

Ne = q/1.6x10-19 = 1
