Adolescents experience a period of vulnerability and exposure to substance use due to the
developmental stage which they find themselves in. moreover, substance use disorders and
adolescence may interact with various factors such as cognitive disabilities. In the provided case,
the presenting problem has an interaction between the client’s use of drugs and their social circle.
Moreover, the presence of a disability is not clear but it is also a factor to consider when doing
the diagnosis. The case presents the interaction of multiple aspects mostly experienced in
adolescence together with a substance use disorder as seen with DSM 5 diagnoses. The client
