The early civilization of the Incas is attributed to the ancient engineering of structures and especially the famous Inca road system. What can modern day engineering project learn from the inca roads system?

inca road system was one of the most vast and extensive transportation system in pre-Columbian South America. Modern day engineering projects should learn the following construction factors from the project of inca roads system;

a) Invest more expenditure time and effort so as to develop long term and advanced road networks.

b) Make the use of resources wisely to avoid unnecessary wastage since resources are scarce.

c).Adopt the inca projects technology and tactics that enabled construction of roads possible even worst plains and terrains.

d). Modern engineers should should plan multipurpose roads which can be used in many ways. For instance, inca roads not only did they provide transportation for people who were traveling through the empire, the road also provided many military and religious purposes for the Inca.
